Dramatic Monday

Our holiday already feels like it’s been months ago, and that we’re long overdue for a new week…. Or three… The bad part about having a solid week together to buckle down and get to work, is going back to our usual lives afterwards. It doesn’t just feel like we’ve stopped making progress, it feels like time is moving backwards. Like everything we’ve done and should be proud of has been fading into the background as we get buried under mountains of work.

Am I being dramatic? Yes, very. But it’s Monday, the first day of the week has passed and I’m feeling dramatic.

The truth is that although we don’t have hours upon hours together to do what we love doing, we can still see the impact of what we’ve done throughout even such a busy week. The changes have stuck with us, and are nudging us forward into the new weekends where we can sit back, recover, and even get some writing done. We’re still running on renewed energy, and I for one don’t see this running out for us anytime soon. And that’s what’s pulling us through challenging weeks and helps us deal with minimal time during the week, because we know the magic at the end of it will be more than worth it.

And it’s that energy and inspiration that is helping us fix what we broke, because even now we’re still finding messes to clean up, changes to undo and problems to sort. Our job really is never done, but it’s been made a lot easier by actually enjoying this all over again. Getting into the nitty gritty of it all, figuring out what works and what doesn’t, or how other things even work. We’re getting into details that we never bothered with before, or that we decided was too much work. This, is what makes it all worthwhile. Not necessarily the end result – it would be a bonus though! – but the journey to get there. Experiencing all of the highs and lows, and being able to do what you really love.

Because ultimately, this is what this is for us. Being able to do what we love, and eventually sharing that with the world.

This does of course, include getting side tracked on Sundays when it’s your turn to do a blog… or is that just me??
